Alsa with dsnoop:0 as wave-in device seems to loop. 
workaround:

winecfg
de-select ALSA
select OSS

Other workarounds may be possible. I tried keeping ALSA and deselecting
dsnoop:0 in favor of my ATI IXP MC97, but then I couldn't bring the volume up,
after repeated tries.
