Summary: Fotobuch Designer installer has a cow when installing fonts Product: Wine Version: CVS Platform: Other URL: http://download.fotobuch.de/designer_setup.exe OS/Version: other Status: NEW Keywords: download, Installer Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-gdi-(printing) AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: dank@kegel.com
A user reported in http://groups.google.com/group/alt.os.linux.mandrake/msg/39367fb8618665e0 that Fotobuch Designer's installer showed error dialogs while installing fonts. I reproduced this with current git. It seems that the app puts fonts in %WINDIR%/Fonts and then calls AddFontResource with just the font's filename, no pathname, and Wine prepended %WINDIR%/System to make an absolute path. Googling around I saw some evidence in http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?pcode=ALL&articleid=Q100057 that Windows' behavior changed over the years, and this app is relying on the older behavior.
