Lots of users reported issues when Ubuntu 12.04 was released, since you were
also affected after upgrading I have pointed you to that forum thread which
discussed the ubuntu issue.

If you are able to build wine you could read
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30557#c18 and build wine without
gstreamer support to check if this is the problem.
