--- Comment #9 from dimesio@earthlink.net 2008-10-20 15:21:22 --- I can confirm this is happening with my version of Office 2003 Pro. Someone reported on the forum that this happened to them with Office 2003 in 1.1.6, and I just tested it myself with a clean wineprefix. To reproduce:
1. Start the installer. 2. Enter name, company info, etc. in the first dialog and click "Next" 3. Select "Custom" install and click "Next" 4. Uncheck everything but Word, and click "Next" 5. Click "Install" and let the install proceed.
The install should then proceed normally. After it is finished, check Wine's Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11 directory--you will see the exes for all the apps you unselected in step 4, and if you try to run them, the ones that normally work in Wine will run.
After testing with 1.1.6, I also took a closer look at my regular Office 2003 wineprefix, installed under an earlier version of Wine (sorry, don't remember which one, but it is post-1.0), and the exes for all the apps in the default install were there as well. I just had never noticed them. The one difference is that if I try to run any of the "not installed" exes from the older install, I get a popup box telling me that app isn't installed for this user.
