The only thing that has changed is a new error message at the beginning of setup: err:ole:get_unmarshaler_from_stream Failed to read common OBJREF header, 0x00000001
If you've made this application work, please specify the version of Wine you used, which native DLL overrides, which non-standard registry keys, etc. so I can reproduce your results.
I opened this as one bug instead of two since a) It makes the reproduction recipe easier to follow b) Demo mode failing could be due to setup failing
