Over the weekend I'll compile a new version of wine and test if I find the time (I don't have the game disc right now to install on an up-to-date Arch Linux install).
Around 1 year from this. It shouldnt be so hard to get precompiled wine by now. 1.8 or 1.9 series. Even late revision 1.7 series would be huge update on that wine version you had.
Suggesting marking needinfo bug.
