What needs to be done is to fix the code so that the multiple servers case is detected and handled correctly. Once this is done the check can be removed.
OK, I agree, this would be better solution.
Then this bug is about lack of proper support for multiple wineservers running simultaneously. Can someone change the bug summary to something more appropriate? For example, "Running multiple wineservers simultaneously can corrupt registry".
