Also, how was this instance of wow installed originally?
Im suspecting it's location as a possible cause at the moment. I go into winecfg to get sound and drives setup, using the autodetect, and then modifying the drives to suit my needs, but I leave the Z: drive, as that covers my entire filesystem. If you don't go into winecfg at all, then the drive setup -may- have something to do with it. Even if you do, the filesystem used on the device where your wow is installed may be a cause. So might be just how it was installed (wine vs windows, diff win versions, or even disc vs web installers). I'm just trying to rule out anything that might be different between our setups.
