This version does not use registry entries. It is far too old. It has worked perfectly well for about 10 years without registry entries, it is not going to start needing them now. There is no end of 'doze software that does not use the registry.
Policy. You can't guarantee that the files are the only thing changed in the system by the installer of this product. You assume that's the case.
If you don't *want* to investigate, just say so, but please don't make spurious excuses. You seem to be so close to having a good product, why are you spoiling it now?
You're not helping the project get any better by filing an invalid bug report and not filing a valid bug report for the installer (assuming it doesn't work). As of this moment, there are 4024 open bug reports for us to deal with, so yes we do have to pick and choose what we work on, and your report is getting bumped because it goes against our policy of not copying installs from a windows machine.
