Alright...so let's start with the first issue:

There are a number of applications that crash if the os sends a WM_ENTERIDLE
message with a NULL window handler.

I'm not sure what these applications want to do so how do you propose to write
a testcase?

A condition to crash if win == NULL doesn't strike me as very revealing ;-)
