Summary: 0.9.60 package for Ubuntu 8.04? Website says yes, package server says no. Product: WineHQ.org Version: unspecified Platform: PC URL: http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: www-unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: megazzt@gmail.com
I have been asked to upgrade to 0.9.60 for testing bugs I reported in 0.9.59. The Wine website states the packages have been released for Ubuntu 8.04 and provides instructions on downloading them. However this package does not appear to exist yet! I would attribute this to the fact that 8.04 was only released yesterday and so building the package started later than usual for a wine release, but the website seems to indicate it should be out already!
http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb has the user execute the command under Ubuntu 8.04:
sudo wget http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/sources.list.d/hardy.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq.list
However http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/sources.list.d/hardy.list does not exist on the server.
After looking at other files in the directory and obtaining the package servers for previous Ubuntus, one could guess the sources.list entries to be:
deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt hardy main deb-src http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt hardy main
However again we get missing file errors if we attempt to apt-get update since there is no /debs/hardy on the server.
I can understand if the package is not available yet but the website would seem to state that it is! IMO the instructions should not be updated for a new distro versuib until a wine package is available for it.
