There isn't a crash at all. Skype 4's setup downloads the .msi file needed to install the program. Under Wine, the setup claims it is having trouble downloading the files, despite the fact that it is not. This is the only clue: fixme:cryptasn:WVTAsn1SpcSpOpusInfoDecode 0x7002c4, 28, 00000000, (nil), 9627876
The setup then gives the option of downloading from "another location". This is what this is: err:winebrowser:get_url_from_dde Unable to retrieve URL from string L""" err:winebrowser:wmain Usage: winebrowser URL That is bug 13891.
Therefore this bug is probably related to cryptasn.
The Business Version avoids this by offering the .msi for download: http://www.skype.com/download/skype/windows/business/
Workaround is to wait until Skype downloads the .msi, but catch it just before it finishes trying to verify it, and copy it to somewhere safe (once checked, it deletes the file). This isn't easy. Enabling WINEDEBUG=+cryptasn in the console might slow it down enough to let you grab the file.
