I think It's an issue of wine I/O completion port support, when you disable I/O completion port, it's OK. see this patch: http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=8368
It's mostly happen in multi-thread applications.
This patch looks like it has solved this issue for me. Two consecutive nights of playing wc3 with no save crashes at all. Also it appears saving is actually faster.
And exactly how to apply this patch?:)
