best way to go is to change wine's alsa backend to work with pulseaudio IMO,
this is also the way that is suggested by PA devs. 
that lack of support is not a satisfiable situation as most mainstreams distros
are using puleaudio now and they have to patch upstream wine because it doesnt
support something that is being used in popular linux distros for more than 2
years now.

just look at the creation date of the ticket, granted that wine is free
software, but this is a incomprehensible situation for lots of wine users
(besides of warcraft 3 BNET support having gotten worse over time)
