"winetricks arial" is the workaround, after which the log-in hangs. I'll open a
new bug report for that.

Staging 8.12 does not suffer from this bug. I suspect it might be thanks to
0001-fonts-Add-Liberation-Sans-as-an-Arial-replacement.patch but patch wouldn't
let me apply the patch to confirm.
