I think the most important thing to point out here is that no potentially
patent-infringing code needs to be put into Wine to get the option of subpixel
rendering into Wine.  That part would be handled by freetype, in which the end
user has the option of turning it on or off.  Wine just needs to put the hooks
in to it.
