As I was saying, Sketchup crashed for me a few seconds after selecting a template and clicking "Start using Google Sketchup." I'm running Intel integrated graphics (GM965) with Ubuntu Jaunty (9.04). Intel is already problematic in terms of graphics, and I've never gotten Sketchup to run in Wine on this machine. I tried disabling hardware shader support and Pixel Shader in winecfg, but more or less the same thing happens either way. I think I remember in Sketchup's settings (from running it on other machines) that you can have it ignore hardware and do it all software, but Sketchup won't load far enough for me to change it.
