Bug ID: 57514 Summary: wineboot hangs with Z: not equal to root of filesystem Product: Wine-staging Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: stephematician@gmail.com CC: leslie_alistair@hotmail.com, z.figura12@gmail.com Distribution: ---
`winecfg`, `wine explorer`, any program at all ... only runs if the Z: is set to the root of the file-system e.g. `Z:=/`.
In previous versions; this was not required and I don't think this should be necessary.
Using a virtual desktop, the output of running (say) `winecfg` once Z: is set to (for example) my home folder `/home/user1234` is a blank virtual desktop window. Eventually I see in the terminal:
0024:err:environ:run_wineboot boot event wait timed out
If I kill the process for wineboot.exe and explorer.exe; then the virtual desktop respawns and the program runs. Thus, I imagine the issue lies within wineboot.
