I just played for about 30 minutes with the attached PTRACE_PEEKDATA patch
against 1.2 (NOT git) and didn't experience any problems. This playtime is not
very long, but that is a pretty good result so far I think. I am not using the
Steam beta (and my Settings page now says "None currently available...").

I will try to get wine built with this patch on the computer of someone whom I
know will have a lot more playtime and get his report soon. Will report back
once I have done that.
