I've seen this bug (at least one which visually looks just the same) on my system when been playing King'd Bounty: The Legend and even had been trying to debug it. What I had tried to do is to capture GL command stream using apitrace for the case when I hit the bug and for the case when I don't. Trouble was that actually it turned out to more likely be a bug in nVIDIA drivers as absolutelly the same trace had been producing both bugged and non bugged rended depending on something I hadn't been able to figure out. I had reported this bug to nVIDIA (made a post to the forum they had been using as an "Official nVIDIA unix support forum" a year or two ago) but it seems that this report didn't attract any attention from nVIDIA devs.
