Yes, you`re right. I used an already installed version of this in an old
wineprefix. 
In a clean wineprefix i get a crash as well from the installer. This didn`t
happen a few weeks ago if I remember correctly; it installed just fine

I don`t remember i i installed it in a clean wineprefix a few weeks ago, i`ll
have a look later today.
