'Games' has '1st person shooter' sub-category so 'platformer' should be fine as a name.
I think that the categories have been manually updated in the SQL database on the server. Editing the linked file might not be the best approach.
Platformer is fine for me. I can't edit the DB, so I'll have to wait for someone with more power than me.
