I don't think this is a dupe of bug 44985
For me it starts working after 'winetricks -q d3dcompiler_43'. It's likely a dupe of one of the gazillion d3d compiler bugs reports which are mostly dupes themselves.
$ wine --version wine-5.8-173-g9e26bc8116
