I'm not sure, what changed (maybe Wayland changed rules a bit?), but I've got both Diablo 1.0 and Worms World Party 1.01 working almost with no issues using stable Wine 10.0 without any big hacks.
In the default fullscreen mode both games still only render black screen, but after enabling Wine's virtual desktop both games are usable in windowed mode. You can then use Valve's Gamescope to upscale them from the windowed mode to fullscreen and you even get flawless Alt+TAB behavior. This way you can also use AMD's FSR for upscaling, apply CRT shader or use integer scaling, if needed.
In Diablo the menus are only re-drawn on mouse move, but that is possibly a different bug. In Worms it seems that the menu is running faster than it should (clouds in the background are fast), but the rest seems to be fine.
