This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 8 months. Is this still an issue in current (1.1.40 or newer) wine?
yes it is. I'll attach a patch with completeley stubbed IDirectPLay8Server that gets the game a tiny bit further. The error messages are gone, but the games then endlessly hangs in a screen saying "Client: Trying to connect to local network" while an endless sequence of the following fixme's is printed:
