Same testcase, ported to Unix

Here's the testcase ported to Unix.
When run on Linux, it behaves the same as the original
testcase on Wine, as expected (since Wine just uses unix sockets).

I asked Phil to file this bug in response to his posts
in which he described the gyrations he had to go through
to work around it; see

If we run into another app that is annoyed by this 
issue, we might want to look again at whether wine
can paper this difference over.
