I'm using openSuSe (Tumbleweed), which uses by default the usual setup of routing alsa > pulseaudio. with that, game won't resume (or will, under some strange voodoo circumstances )
with alsa, graphics gets all messed up and audio stops working immediately after a loaded game.
And without audio (either by disabling it or by disabling mmdevapi) game always resume.
So, it appears that here it's not a graphical issue (didn't even try without the double buffering patch)
