--- Comment #14 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2011-12-20 01:17:00 CST --- The same problem here in Wine-1.3.35 with the DotEmu version of the game (DRM free). The following native components were installed by the game: d3dx9_25 vcrun2005 dotnet20.
The game shows a white screen for a couple of seconds then it crashes (without a usable backtrace). With disabled vertex shaders (but pixel shaders enabled) the game gets further and it plays the company logos and intro video, then it crashes when the last video ends (probably when the main menu should appear).
The demo for Loki is protected by Starforce thus cannot be used for testing.
