--- Comment #12 from Christoph Korn c_korn@gmx.de 2009-01-08 11:44:58 --- I got the menu of CoD5 running.
Therefore I did: - sh winetricks directx9 - regedit sound.reg (sound.reg being this file: http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=18560) - patched the current git tree with this patch and compiled: http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=18559 - copied the XAudio2_0.dll from a XP machine into the drive_c/windows/system32 directory.
Then I was able to run the menu of CoD5 with the new compiled wine.
However, if I do: SOLO -> MISSION SELECT -> Semper Fi -> Recruit to start a new campaign, I am just thrown back to the Mission Select Menu and nothing more happens.
It seems that my video card is to bad to support CoD5.
That seems the reason why the campaign does not start.
If some users with better hardware could confirm that CoD5 works this way the entry in the application database can be changed from GARGABE to something more fitting.
