Very strange, that implies the flags changed from ISMEX_SEND to
ISMEX_NOTIFY|ISMEX_REPLIED in between the two calls. And that combination of
flags doesn't make sense, since a notify message doesn't get a reply, as the
test shows.

I think this behavior should be considered broken().
