[Bug 17491] Black screen after starting google earth

After more testing I noticed that the problem varies in different window
managers and user profiles. I'm always able to reproduce this in Xmonad under
an existing user profile. However, in Gnome, with an existing user profile this
problem only manifests some of the times. Other times, the screen goes black
but goes back to the normal desktop after GooglEarth loads completely (usually
whitin a few seconds of startup). The problem seems non-existent in Gnome of a
newly created user.
