Test patch by Tijl

To make sure, I ran `portupgrade -a` on the test machine, which did
not change anything.  I still am getting that failure.

Tijl provided a test patch, attached thusly, which allows my simple
tests to succeed again.

(This is a remote FreeBSD installation running on VMware.)
