Summary: Running Ace Ventuira in Alaska Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: nigel_galloway@yahoo.com
Created an attachment (id=36291) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=36291) AVC problem
When running ACEDEMO.EXE (see http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=9623) with Wine 1.3.27 Fedora 15 complains about /opt/wine/bin/wine-preloader needing to mmap low memory in the kernel (see attachment).
I applied a local fix to allow this temporarily (if this is usual is it documented anywhere?). The behaviour of ACEDEMO was then as reported in a recent test report submitted by José Manuel Ferrer. The application hangs whenever Ace attempts to utter a wittisism, some may think this is a good thing! Wine reported the following:
err:alsa:wine_snd_pcm_recover underrun occurred
I tried the sound test with winecfg which reported:
fixme:alsa:AudioClient_GetMixFormat Don't know what to do with 32 channels, pretending there's only 2 channels
This application worked with Wine 1.2.20 (When the sound module was OSS).
