Skype 7.0.0.102 crashes trying to play audio in Wine 1.7.33 when Windows version is set to Windows 7/8.1.
The download is dead. Is this an issue still? And what version of skype?
For Skype 6.21, the download link is here: http://hugsmile.eu/file/wine/skype6/SkypeSetup.msi
== This was tested using Windows XP (default) Wine mode. ==
The issue is still present on Wine 1.7.55 staging. Skype succesfully installs, but then you need to start Skype using the /legacylogin switch:
WINEPREFIX=~/.wineskype-offline WINEARCH=win32 wine msiexec /i SkypeSetup.msi cd "~/.wineskype-offline/drive_c/Program Files/Skype/Phone" WINEPREFIX=~/.wineskype-offline WINEARCH=win32 wine Skype.exe /legacylogin
It seems as long as there are no unread messages, Skype does not crash. So the crash is probably not related to this specific bug.
After typing the legacylogin command and logging in, I got a few screens.
The first was "Setting up Skype". On this screen, I could not hear any sound or see any video. Screenshot is attached (Dutch).
The second screen, after clicking away the intro screens, was the normal Skype window. I clicked on the Sound Test Service and it said "Problem with playing device". Screenshot is attached (Dutch).
Also, going to settings trying to play a sound also does not work.
