Removing EXT_glDrawArraysInstanced* and EXT_glDrawElementsInstanced* (which seem to use GL_*_draw_instanced does not make any difference at all. Perhaps I am going about it the wrong way though.
I'm not much of a programmer but I don't think just disabling the instructions would be much use. If I understand the problem correctly the solution would be for Wine to actually translate the D3D instructions regarding geometry instancing into corresponding OGL instructions.
Sadly I'm not much help when it comes to code, but maybe someone else might find this problem interesting enough, especially now that ArmA 2 Free is out.
