I had this problem, but solved it by installing the Blizzard 1.24b patch which
removes the requirement of having a CD in the computer to play the game.  I was
also trying to play the game using an ISO image instead of the actual CD, which
might be a factor, but the no CD patch makes this irrelevant.  Now, the game
plays perfectly (Ubuntu Karmic Beta)
