--- Comment #102 from Jordan K project.neotokyo@gmail.com 2011-04-24 21:37:54 CDT --- Dear ae,
This patch worked flawlessly on Ubuntu, now here's my problem:
I was using 64-bit Arch Linux with my own kernel, stripped for my systems needs. The patch would let me get about 1-2 seconds of gameplay and then completely freeze. I could get play back for about 3 seconds if I used CTRL+ALT+F# combinations, and then pressed a key in another application where WoW wasn't focused, but then it would freeze up after trying to play again.
This same issue is now present in 64-bit Gentoo Linux, also with my own stripped kernel. I am about to try the patch on a monolithic kernel by using genkernel, but I have no idea what the effect will be.
Both wine versions were 1.3.17 (the same that worked on Ubuntu) the only difference between those versions is mine is vanilla wine + the rgl patch, not every other patch described in aigarius' version.
If anyone has any suggestions as to what this could be, please, do inform me. It's been driving me nuts for a week now. WoW works in vanilla wine, but it's just not the same without the RGL patch. I've seen the light, and I want it back!
Regards, J
