Summary: Warcraft III (Frozen Throne) performance issue (cpu at 100% all time) Product: Wine Version: 1.1.31 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: emmeran@gmx.net
When starting Warcraft III - Frozen Throne using this command: env WINEPREFIX="/mnt/musik/.wine" WINEDEBUG=-all wine explorer /desktop=0,1680x1050 /mnt/disk/Programme/Warcraft\ III/Frozen\ Throne.exe -opengl
but also without the parameters, or starting Warcraft III Reign Of Chaos using wine /mnt/disk/Programme/Warcraft\ III/Warcraft\ III.exe
leads to one of my two CPU's being constantly at 100%, whilst the other isn't used by wine at all.
I run a multithread test program, which showed me that multithreading in wine works. Also I always use current nVidia graphics drivers. I had this problem a long time already, but since the game is playable most of the time I didn't care to report this.
I'm running Gentoo 32bit on a Nexoc E619 with a nVidia GF 8600M GT and a Intel DualCore T7300, 2GHz.
The annoying thing about the problem is, that if you get some background application spiking to 100% on the other CPU, the game will lag immensly.
