my pc configuration: proc: intel core 2 duo e4500 2.2 ghz 2mb l2 cache socket 775 mem: 1.5 gb mem. graphics: dedicated geforce 8400gs, 512 mb moboard: intel 945-gcnl chipset: intel 945 gc hdd: seagate barracuda 7200.12 500 + western digital 80 gb dvd drive: sony optiarc 24x writer os: ubuntu oneiric ocelot 11.10 (dvd install) x86_64 microsoft windows xp pro sp3 video driver: 290.10 (ppa for nvidia cards)
wrc fia version : 1.00.0000 & 1.01.0000
the game works fine on windows xp but used to crash on ubuntu initially. so i addded the following native dlls by placing them where the game was installed: devenum dinput dinput8 dsound ole2 ole2disp ole2nls ole32 oleacc oleaccrc oleaut32 olecli olecli32 olecnv32 oledlg oleprn olepro32 olesvr olesve32 olethk32 quartz win.com win32k.sys win32spl
(not sure whether all of the above were needed)
initially the game used to refuse to even show the default wine crash dialog as i added more & more native dlls as needed the game settings menu was accessible and also the game started in full screen mode. but the problem was the black screen afterr entering full screen. I had to press ALT-F4 to bring the exit confirmation dialog box. agter hitting no there the game proceeds but after a second it gets stuck and it takes 10-15 seconds for the next frame to come also there is no response to input except for ALT-F4 to quit I suspect it is win32 & dinput where the problem does not solve even after adding native dlls
i have added attachments of logs generated with & without the native dlls with dlls i could not even respond to the exit dialog box got win:registerrawinputdevices & win:getrawinputdevices
