This is fixed for me with wine-6.0-rc1-29-g310019789f7, I tried the Cradle of Persia setup and the Mount & Blade: WFAS trial.
Can anyone confirm this as well?
With 6.0-rc1/6.0-rc2, Mount and Blade looks the same as it did in https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28960#c5.
Do you have mscorefonts installed, maybe?
