I'm not seeing the same crash as you, either by launching flyff.exe or neuz.exe (flyff pops up a gameguard error, and neuz exits after a few fixmes). I have a feeling we're using different programs. Which download link are you using from the link above/what's the md5sum? (I've got 894170aa4e02acb7a881ee87f1801b9c GE_V9_Install_20071113.exe)
As for your crash, can you see if a native gdi32.dll works around it?
