Why isn't he a honest man and simply closes the bug citing lack of developer interest, if the goal is to get the number of open bugs lower?
The goal is to not have bugs open for issues which have been fixed.
But I don't see the point in wasting time or money if there's no developer interested in fixing this bug.
If there is a demo then there is an opportunity for a developer to be interested, I have fixed bugs where there has been sufficient information or a demo, there is none here and I don't own the game. I assume it's the same for others, no one will look when there is nothing to look at.
No one is trying to intentionally waste your time.
It's unlikely that this bug will progress until someone either guesses what it's doing, asks you for the right trace, guesses from that or gets a hold of a copy of it.
