I think it is of utmost importance to implement a functionality in WINE so that it integrates the current desktop environment as good as possible (pretty much like gtk-qt-engine). Basically we would go from:

It has to detect if the user has Gnome or KDE, and look at the native theme details to mimic the same look and feel for Win32 applications. Here's more info:
