As you may have noticed, plenty has changed since 1.6.2.

I'm not sure if it helps, but try using
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Fonts\Replacements key instead (and keep 32bit
vs 64bit in mind - sometimes you need to explicitly put in in the Wow6432Node
subtree).
