I was able to connect once to a server for a play session. The next time I started the game, I started crashing out with the CAudioSourceMemWave errors.
I cannot reproduce this error in either HL2: Episode 1 or Left 4 Dead.
I also tried doing a "Verify integrity of game cache", but to no effect.
