Here 2 snips of MSI traces, showing different behaviour on 2 queries :

Query of LOCALAPPDATAFOLDER :

Locali\Applicazioni" for property L"LOCALAPPDATAFOLDER"

Query of CommonAppDataFolder :

You can note that first case has NO trailing backslash, the second HAS it.
