since you seem to be the only one experiencing this, your distro install is likely broken or missing prerequisites -> invalid.
Try with Wine 1.7.27 and provide *more* information if it still happens.

There are a lot of Ubuntu versions/releases/flavours in the wild. Is that some kind of a guessing game here?
