Summary: The game Locomotion crashes on startup (after drawing an empty desktop window) due to an unhandled page fault. Product: Wine Version: 0.9.27. Platform: Other OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: wine-binary AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: matthew.king@monnsta.net
The game Locomotion crashes on startup (after drawing an empty desktop window) due to an unhandled page fault.
This previously happened when I had a USB sound card plugged in (and therefore two cards listed in /proc/asound/cards) and would work fine when it was removed. Now I have a new motherboard with an on-board sound card which is disabled (by forcing the module not to load) and the bug is still present. I am not sure if it is directly related to sound but my previous symptoms indicate it might be.
I assume there will be an attach button later to put a stack dump in but in the meantime some (possibly) relevant system data:
CPU: Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ RAM: 2GB OS: Debian sid Kernel: 2.6.18-3-amd64 Wine: 0.9.27-1 (i386 binary in pure64 environment) Wine: 0.9.12~winehq2~ubuntu~6.06-1 (i386 binary in i386 chroot) ie. Both wine builds have this problem.
Locomotion is installed in /home/mking, /home is an NFS mount I *think* I have updated Locomotion to 1.76, either way Windows reports the exe is version 4.2.168.0. I am using a (the?) no-cd crack. MD5s: f7972463d73165df9c411cfc3bf8a25b Loco.exe 8b8c76f6c35ad48549616b82942ee2cb Loco.orig.exe
Loco.orig.exe does not crash but quits when it cannot find the CD that is not there. Which reminds me - I now have 2 CD drives which I did not before. Next boot I will disable the new one and followup with the results.
