Also lower you REAL Desktop Resolution to 800X600 before you start Heroes 3.
This helps me so that i can play 4-5 h without freezes.
Unfortunaly it still freezes then and when.
Tested with 2.6.35 rc6 Kernel under (k)Ubuntu 10.04 and "Heroes 3 - Shadow of Death" with "NoCD Crack".
