This doesn't seem to work anymore with the latest winetricks... (changes to
wsh56?)

But I figured out why I was never seeing any output from Mono (it needs to be
started from the program directory, whereas I usually use "./wine start /Unix
/some/path..." instead). After installing wsh56 and mono26 with an older
winetricks, I see this output as the error appears:

ContainerControl.Validate is not yet implemented
